How to use these values: SHA-256 and MD5 are file checksums, not signing certificates. After downloading an APK, calculate its SHA-256 and compare it with the matching report above; a mismatch means it is not the same file. A matching hash identifies the file contents, but does not establish that its publisher is trustworthy. The certificate subject is self-reported certificate metadata, not independent proof of an official publisher.

Package and signing comparison

The package IDs and certificate fingerprints differ. Android therefore treats these as separate apps rather than as an update to one another.

Why the ID changed

A new package, not an in-place update

Different package names let both editions remain installed on one Android device.

According to the project history published for these releases, the original HappyMod team disbanded. The classic com.happymod.apk app remains available, but parts of its service have become unreliable or are no longer actively maintained, including new mod listings, catalog updates, and community ratings and comments.

com.happymod.app is described as a continuation developed by members of the former team. It aims to carry forward the familiar catalog and app features while continuing to add mod updates, new data, mini-games, and maintained community functions. Similar appearance or features do not make it the same Android app: the package ID and signing certificate shown in the reports are different.

Because Android identifies apps by package ID, installing one does not replace the other. They keep separate app data and settings. Install each from its own download button below; no uninstall or data migration is needed to compare them.

Android installation

Install either APK

The steps are the same for both downloads. Menu names can vary by Android version and device manufacturer.

Download the APK

Choose either New HappyMod or Old HappyMod above and wait for the download to finish.

Open the downloaded file

Tap the APK in your browser's download list or in the device's Files app.

Allow this install source

If prompted, open Settings and allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps. Return to the installer.

Confirm and launch

Review the Android prompt, tap Install, then open the app when installation completes.

Only allow APK installation from a source you trust. You can turn off the "Install unknown apps" permission for that browser or file manager after installing. Check the package ID and compare the downloaded file's SHA-256 with the report if you need to verify that it matches the scanned APK.
